The Chopped Sweetcorn Buffet
Around here, mowing down the sweetcorn stalks doesn’t mean the garden is closed for the season. It means the buffet is officially open!
After Farmer Jay chopped down the sweetcorn stalks, our 13 Rhode Island Red hens wasted no time heading out to investigate. Cluck Norris and Gertie led the expedition, while the rest of the girls searched through the freshly chopped stalks for every last tasty morsel.
Of course, Lady and Oscar couldn’t let the chickens have all the fun. They made the trip out to the garden too, sniffing, exploring and making sure nothing exciting happened without them.
Gertie thought Farmer Jay had simply mowed down the sweetcorn.
Cluck Norris knew better: he had opened an all-you-can-eat buffet!
Lady declared it the best restaurant ever, while Oscar was still wondering whether they needed reservations.
Around this farm, one creature’s garden cleanup is another creature’s five-star dining experience—and this crowd plans to keep coming back until every last kernel is gone!
Because every FarmHouse deserves a good laugh.
